A bank holiday shindig with musical friends from Falkirk and Edinburgh expect indie-pop, fun times…
Begun in 2015, initially as a songwriting project for Iain King following the demise of his previous band Mono Six. With tunes in hand, Mags, Scott and JJ joined him in Summer of last year and Ghost Writer was born. Recent EP Outskirts Vol 1. showcased a range of alt. pop styles with intricate break-up lyrics set to Foals-like dance friendly guitar riffs and synth, that could be equally at home in an intimate setting or on a Summer festival stage. The Falkirk based four-piece are currently back recording and have a slew of dates in the pipeline following this, their first Edinburgh show.
The moniker of Edinburgh based Andy Thomson, Fuzzystar perform off-kilter indie pop full of narrative, melodies and flashes of lo-fi fuzz. References and comparisons have been made to Brian Wilson and Sun Kil Moon, with God Is In The TV describing the first EP as “Absolutely wonderful dream-pop”. A new album is recorded and scheduled for release in the Autumn.

“A winsome affair that comes on like a Caledonian Nilsson Schmilsson, or maybe Al Steward as produced by Belle & Sebastian…packs as much unselfconscious charm as Gilbert O’Sullivan or Andrew Gold on top form” – Mojo (4 out of 5)
“Aaron Wright is going to stand out” – Q Magazine
