Independent Venue Week:
DED RABBIT, The Mexanines, Dorey The Wise
Independent Venue Week is a week long celebration of grassroots music venues. After 2015’s sold out run, we have another great lineup this year.
Ded Rabbit are a four piece Alt rock/Indie band consisting of four brothers; Eugene (vocals, rhythm guitar), Fergus (lead guitar), Donal (bass) and Eoin Gaine (drums). Originally from Yorkshire, they moved to the Highlands in 1996 and through the isolation and a developing love of music, started playing together ten years ago.
They moved to Edinburgh to study, began taking music more seriously. They found in the studio; working on the last three EP’s in Glasgow with Rocket Science Studios, who have recorded Texas, Belle And Sebastian, Dougie MacLean and many more. ??“Their music echoes the influences they cite like Hendrix and The Beatles (post-1965) but they are avid gig-goers too, eager to see what is going on nowadays, so they are just as likely to be out watching Peace or Palma Violets as they are at home listening to Abbey Road or Electric Ladyland” – John Paul Mason, Daily Record.
?“It’s an explosive affair when you see Ded Rabbit live. I’d put them up there with Catfish And TheBottlemen as one of the best live acts around at the moment.” – Jim Gellatly.
