Thursday, March 25th, 2010

Nude Pilots – www.myspace.com/nudepilots
From Edinburgh and Glasgow, they’re are recording right now and will have new songs up before this gig kicks off, seen them two weeks ago and the new stuff sounds fucking minted, the two tracks are a bit old and it’s recorded with ex members.

Plague Vessel – www.myspace.com/plaguevessel
From West Lothian we play a mixture of stuff in our music, we have elements of hardcore, screamo, punk this will have been our second gig. Might be high energy who knows, we just have a laugh. Should have another rough song up before the gig.

Notebooks – Hailing from Stirling they play Modern Hardcore, influenced by Ceremony, Give up the ghost, The Carrier, Modern life is war. This will be their first show.

This should be a cracker and it’s free so get on down.

YOUTHMOVIES + Adam Gnade (last ever tour)

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

On December 29th the band announced that, save for a final tour in March 2010, they will cease to make music together. Writing on the band’s myspace blog, singer and guitarist Andrew Mears said, “we’re still friends, still love to play and there’s no attitude about any of this; we’re all at good points in our lives, just very different ones. Life has spread us out over the country now and it’s become a logistical nightmare to get our shit together.”

Youthmovies formed in Oxford, UK in 2002, and consists of Graeme Murray (drums, percussion, backing vocals), Stephen Hammond (bass), Samuel Hudson Scott (brass, keys, backing vocals), Al English (guitar, backing vocals), and Andrew Mears (vocals, guitar). The band were known as Youthmovie Soundtrack Strategies before shortening the name in 2006.

To date, the band have released one full album, three mini-albums, three singles, a collaboration with Adam Gnade, several splits and three limited edition tour-only CDRs.
